Hyderabad, Dec 16: Cops in Hyderabad busted an online sex trafficking racket on late Friday. As per reports, three women were rescued after the police busted the racket in Rachakonda. They also arrested two people in connection with this case and seized two mobile phones from their possession.
The Special Operation Team (SOT) Rachakonda, Malkajgiri Zone busted the online sex trafficking racket on tip of information and apprehended human trafficking organisers – Rajashekar Reddy, movie Assistant Director and his assistant, Ravi Kumar – for incriminating women in prostitution by arranging customers.
The SOT conducted decoy operation at the Singapore Township under the limits of the Ghatkesar Police Station and apprehended the organisers.
Earlier on November 26, the Rachakonda Police busted another online sex racket and nabbed three persons associated with it on charges of human trafficking. In this case, the police also rescued an Uzbek national who was overstaying in India after her visa expired.
The police was tipped off and they conducted a decoy operation at a hotel and apprehended the alleged racket kingpin Jogeshwar Rao and his associates L Gopal and K Gopi, Press Trust of India claimed.
A Senior police official stated that Rao was engaging models and women of foreign nationalities in flesh trade as part of his online racket.
In another case, on November 23, the Hyderabad Police had arrested a 63-year-old man and a woman on charge of running a brothel at a flat. The police rescued a 27-year-old woman, who also belonged to Uzbekistan.
