4 Bangladeshi girls rescued in India

Agartala, Sep 14 (bdnews24.com) – Four Bangladeshi girls, who were cheated into flesh trade, have been rescued by police in India’s southern state of Karnataka.

Acting on a complaint filed by one of the victims Reshma, Upparpet police on Monday also arrested five people, including a citizen of Bangladesh, for allegedly running a prostitution racket, reports local media.

The accused Bangladeshi has been identified as Mohammad Babu Bisas (22), a citizen of Jessore district, who brought girls from Bangladesh to Karnataka’s capital Bangalore via Paschimbanga. Babu allegedly lured the girls with job offers in India but drove them into flesh trade in Bangalore.

None of the girls had any valid passport to visit India. The rescued girls would be sent back to their native places, said sources. Police seized items worth Rs 3 lakh during the raid.
