Socialite Madhuri Hingorani (46) is again in the news for all the wrong reasons. For the second time in the last seven months, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths of the women and narcotics squad have raided Hingorani’s hi-tech massage parlour “Energetic Inc” in Eden Hall apartment near the posh Jayamahal Extenison. On Tuesday, the CCB sleuths raided the massage parlour on reports of a prostitution racket running there and have arrested Hingorani and 12 others. On May 11, the CCB sleuths had raided her massage parlour and arrested 19 persons including the chief DRDO scientist. The sleuths had also recovered `68,430 in cash, 15 mobile phones, three cars, two two-wheelers and a swiping machine. During the first raid, Hingorani had gone to London to see her son, who had undergone an operation.
She had managed to obtain anticipatory bail. She had then filed a criminal petition before the high court seeking direction to quash the chargesheet filed by the CCB sleuths in the matter.After the first raid, the police who had submitted the chargesheet claim that the parlour was converted into a brothel targeting elite businessmen and engaged pimps and agents. The police had also enclosed an application to cancel the trade license granted by the BBMP.After her arrest during the raid on Tuesday, S V Guled, ACP, Women and Narcotics Squad said, “Hingorani had managed to escape during the first raid. But this time she was caught and has been handed over to the jurisdictional J C Nagar police station for further investigations.” The other arrested have been identified as Tanveer (42) from Mumbai and Manoj (23) from Sugappa Layout, the two pimps along with Richa (25) from Ejipura, Totoi (25) from Arunachal Pradesh, Sonu (30) from Ejipura, Mini (22) from Arunachal Pradesh, Leena Das (25) from Nagawara, along with four other women. The CCB sleuths have also recovered Rs 2,840 in cash and four mobile phones.
Hingorani and the other accused who were produced before the local court on Wednesday afternoon have been remanded to judicial custody, said J C Nagar police. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle DCP (Crime) Krishnamraju, said, “We had arrested her earlier in May on the same charges and had also appealed to the BBMP to cancel her license. Since she had valid certificates she could renew her license and get away on bail. This time the CCB have caught her red handed and also her license has been cancelled.”
